During your child’s 7e program, we offer 24/7 support with our in-country and international staff. We want you to enjoy the service learning opportunity for your child just as much as they do! Our 7 Elements of safety and consistent support maket it easy!
How do I check on my child when he/she is in country?
In your pre-departure materials, we will give you the immediate contact numbers of the Program Director, Facilities Manager and Local Staff working directly with the program. We will also have support from the US from our two representatives managing and checking-in on the program at all times.
What if my son or daughter gets sick on the trip?
It is required that all 7e participants have travel and medical insurance before arriving in country. This will either be organized directly through 7 Elements or can be independently purchased. All hospitals and clinics that we use are within a 15 minute drive of our locations at all times and all accept travel medical insurance. Should you child need to visit the clinic, they will be escorted and supervised by a 7 Elements staff.
Will this count as credit or service hours for school?
Yes! Our service hours can be submitted and signed off by one of our 7e staff so that students can receive participation credit for their summer or extra curricular service hours. Accredition is a bit different as this has to be formally approved by an administration. However, we are happy to help in any way regarding this after a student participates on our program.
How do I pay for these trips?
Once a student commits to traveling with 7e, we ask that a $250.00 deposit is made to reserve the program spot. Once that is paid, we will create an electronic invoice that details the remaining balance including travel & medical insurance. This does not include ancillary costs such as flight and any expenses in the student’s home country. This also does not cover any necessary passport or visa fees.

If you would like to make your deposit online, you can use the Make a Payment page on our website, which will be a PayPal transaction. Don’t have PayPal? No problem, you can sign in as a guest and pay with a card.
How do I know your staff are qualified?
All of our 7 Elements staff are vetted either by other Organizations or have been working with our Organization for years, receiving yearly training and certifications to ensure the highest safety standards for our participants. All of our Local Staff participate in extensive training each year, centered around conduct with students, safety and emergency protocol. Cooking staff are certified in American Safety food standards and all driving staff and personal are licensed and reviewed each year. The benefit of 7e’s organizational platform is our knowledge of our international locations and deep network of qualified and trusted staff. Are Progran Directors are required to be CPR/First Aid certified and every program will have a Lifeguard certified staff.

7 Elements is a service learning Organization that operates in Dominican Republic, Belize, Peru, Haiti and Alabama, U.S. 7e began in the Domincian Republic over a decade ago with the vision of using immersive experiences, cultural connections and education about global issues to empower young leaders with tools and knowledge to be involved civically and globally. 7e partners wth High Schools, Universities, Independent Partners and other Organizations to create unique and unforgettable experiences for students.
High School Summer Programs
One of 7e’s oldest and most robust partnership has been with Global Leadership Adventures. Every year, 7e hosts hundreds of High School students from different places in the Dominican Republic to experience Global Health, Environmental, Sustainabitliy and Social Justice programs in the Caribbean. 7e hosts customized trips throughout the year with schools and other partners seeking educational and immersive program experiences.
University Partnerships and Alternative Breaks
Each year, 7e hosts a variety of University partner groups that are affiliated with various Alternative Breaks and Departments that offer travel opportunities to students. These programs typically range from 1-2 weeks and and are diretly co-signed by a University. We also have a handful of accredited programs designed hand in hand with professors seeking immersive experiences abroad and incorporating high level and academic content. We also customize independent & custom groups for students that do not have specific affiliation within the University but would like to participate in a service learning experience. All programs take place all through the year depending on the University’s and students’ schedules. We do everything we can to accomodate your travel and schedule restrictions.
Over the years, 7e has developed some very strong partnerships with Organizations offering traveling and immersive experiences for students and adults. We value these partnerships because it is an opportunity for us to use an ethical and sustainable service learning model with Organizations seeking holistic travel experiences for participants.
