Our Mission
To introduce people from the developed to human security issues in the developing world while assessing their talent, skills and resources in applying appropriate, locally supported technologies to reduce the risks and vulnerabilities of inescure communities.

Who We Are

Dr. David Addison, founded 7 Elements in 2008. Since then it has grown from a single location, service-learning organization to a multi-country, multi-disciplinary organization. 7e now operates year-round with local and internatinoal partners and stakeholders to provide the best experiential learning programs through hands on, sustainable projects.

The 7e Approach
We are commited to addressing today's global issues through education and fostering a higher level of global citzenship. Our service-learning programs offer cross cultural and critical thinking opportunities that display the inter-dependencies between poverty, environmental degradation, migration, global instability and how our own lifestyles have an effect. While participating in various engaging projects and activities and learning about human insecurities in local communities, our students increase their awareness of these societal issues and understand their role as a global citezen.

7e will customize your service learning trip to meet your learning objectives and goals! Follow the steps below to become a 7e Partner.

Follow these 5 Steps to Become a 7e Partner

1. Schedule a meeting with our Director of Groups
We want to learn more about your university or organization! Schedule a phone call with us to talk about how our programs can connect your institutional learning objectives to students experience with 7 Elements. We look forward to your email!

2. Choose your Program Type and Focus

Our goal is for all of our Programs to be unique like all of our Partners that travel with us. We want your input and hope to make your international experience the best it can be in relation to your vision and goals. Below are some details to consider when creating a partnership with us. 

  • Do you plan to integrate this experience with an existing course?
  • Will this be an annual program?
  • Will this program be available to students from other institutions?
  • Will the university be assisting students/ faculty financially?
  • What level of students should participate?
  • Will this be a student-led program?
  • Will this be a faculty-led program?
  • Will faculty be part of the program or will it be for students only?
  • What will the size of the team be?
3. Choose the Dates and Location of your Program

7 Elements operates year round in the locations below:

Choose your country and we will find dates that accomodate your institution's schedule.
4. Plan the Logistics of Your Program
We believe in a student-led program and 7 Elements will help student leaders throughout their planning travel logistics. We want your feedback in planning your activities, projects and curriculum. Here are some things to consider when planning your logistics. 
  • Skype/Webinar meetings with 7 Elements to prepare students for the program
  • Orientation to service experience that includes both logistical, skill-based orientation as well as orientation to community needs.
  • Pre-departure material for students will be supplied by 7 Elements
  • Student/Faculty members will purchase own flights
  • In-country orientation
  • Community Ethics course
  • Reflection Activities
  • Specific Program Lectures & Discussion 
  • Service Projects in communities
  • Cross-cultural exchange 
  • Cultural activities
  • Adventure activities 
5. Sign a Program Agreement and Submit Trip Deposit

Once the initial program details have been determined, 7 Elements will submit a Program Agreement requiring your signature. This agreement will include basic program details, release of liability and billing.
